Abbotsford, BC – The BC Sportsmen’s Show is getting ready to take over TRADEX this weekend, March 1 through 3. A longtime annual favourite of the region’s outdoor enthusiasts, the expansive show features fishing, hunting, boating and more. 2019 marks the 28th edition of the show, which promises to bring hundreds of exhibitors together for the largest show of its kind in the region.
“We’re getting ready to welcome back tens of thousands of visitors over the course of three days,” said Les Trendall, Show Manager. “Whether you enjoy fishing, boating, hunting, camping, or any other outdoor activity – this is the perfect time to get geared up for the year!”
Highlights for this year’s event include:
- New this year, attendees will have a chance to win a grand door prize sponsored by Checkpoint Yamaha; the winner will have a choice of three prize options, including a boat & trailer package, 2018 Yamaha Kodiak 450 ATV, or a family dirtbike package (all valued at $11,000 or more).
- Dozens of free seminars at the hunting and fishing stages, plus demonstrations at this year’s fly casting stage sponsored by Fred’s Custom Tackle. Special speakers at the show include Willie Homes, world-champion fly tier; Travis O’Shea, world champion elk caller; and Dana White, the host of Fatal Impact Outdoors on Wild TV.
- Cabela’s Family fun zone, with the chance to try lots of kid-friendly activities
- Hunters can bring their heads, horns and antlers for scoring
- A special screening of the Fly Fishing Film Tour
Visitors are encouraged to avoid the line-ups and buy tickets in advance on the show website, www.BCSportsmenShow.ca. Tickets are $15.00 per adult, with special pricing for juniors, seniors, and families.
