Halifax, NS – The Halifax Exhibition Centre was filled with an exceptional number of attendees over the course of the weekend. With over 7,000 visitors, The Halifax International Boat Show wrapped up one of its most successful editions, February 2-5. The show floor was overtaken by the largest and most sought-after brands of recreational watercraft and equipment from across the region.
“Not even an extreme cold warning could keep the boating community from this show” says Scott Sprague, Show Manager. “The Exhibition Centre was full of excitement for the entire 4 days of the event despite some tricky weather.”
This year’s show featured some interactive family-friendly activities from the Discovery Centre and the presentation series provided a variety of informative sessions including some Nova Scotian history and treasure hunting stories, tips for cooking onboard, cold water immersion and a Chester Race week Q&A that kept people interested.
Visitors also had a chance to go home with some amazing prizes. Congratulations to our door prize winners:
• Lawrence Jardine who won a SWI-TEC Self-Adjusting Anchor Buoy from Craft’s Cove Marine
• Brad Porter who won an ICOM M25 Handheld VHF Radio from The Binnacle
• Candice Killam who won a Mustang Manual Inflate Life Jacket from Quartermaster Marine
Non-perishable food items were also collected at the show in support of FeedNS. Visitors who brought in an item were entered to win a two-person towable courtesy of Maritime Marine Supply. Congratulations to Heather Gillis for winning this great prize and thank you to our amazing sponsor.
