Halifax, NS – The Ideal Home Show powered by Nova Scotia Power welcomed thousands of eager homeowners ready to tackle upcoming spring renovations. The Halifax Exhibition Centre was a hub for home inspiration, March 24 – 26, 2023.
“There was an incredible turn-out at the Halifax Exhibition Centre. From energy efficiency, to renovation, or new home design, there was something for everyone”, said Show Manager Pat Steeves. “The energy in the building was electric. Everyone was in great spirits to be back, and attendees were eager to make purchases and bookings.”
Nova Scotia Power, the title sponsor of the Ideal Home Show, welcomed customers to experience the Power Box and learn more about how electric solutions can help them make greener choices. In addition, they provided demonstrations for MyEnergy Insights, a digital tool available to customers through MyAccount to track their energy use and receive helpful insights to better manage their usage and power bills. Members of Nova Scotia Power’s Preferred Contractor Network were on-site to answer customer questions, and partners from Next Ride shared electric vehicle information.
“The clean energy passport program was an overwhelming success”, says Sean Miller, Show Manager. “The Clean Energy Spotlight showcased organizations that provide clean energy alternatives to move towards a cleaner and greener Nova Scotia. Attendees picked up their passport and completed it by visiting various highlighted exhibitors to learn more about the clean energy exhibitors.”
Congratulations to this year’s door prize winner, Carla Flaherty who took home an Okanagan 4-person 10-jet portable hot tub provided by Canadian Spa Company and Home Depot.
Efficiency Nova Scotia was busy on the Efficiency Nova Scotia Stage as well as in their booth, educating visitors about Home Energy Assessment rebates, the Canada Greener Homes Grants, and the federal off-oil heat pump affordability program. They also introduced the new provincial program for low-income households, where eligible households could sign up for a free heat pump and electrical service upgrade.
Thousands of visitors were impressed after touring the on-site mini home, The Monarch, from Patterson Homes. The stunning 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom was designed to entertain with ease. The butterfly roof design allows for a sloped ceiling height of up to 9’8″ inside and houses many oversized windows allowing for natural lighting throughout the home. Its main living area offers a full-sized dining room, spacious living area, stunning kitchen and large patio doors to lead onto your deck. This home sure left a lasting impression!
The show will return in 2024. For complete event details, please visit the show’s website at www.SpringIdeal.ca or follow the show on Facebook.
